ZBrush 3 is here!

The development phase has been going on for years and what originally was supposed to be ZBrush 2.5 now finally hit the streets as a more significant upgrade, and got the 3.0 extension instead. Pixologic has worked hard on this update and it has been well worth the wait! Woohoo!
I just got my upgrade link…

And we have shading

And we have shading

Here’s a quick update of my progress with this female character since yesterday. I finalized the facial features tonight, and started working on the shading and textures. Here’s my current state of her.
I’ve finished the eyes and textured them. I’ve also started paint the textures for the skin. There is still some more work left…

Cooking fibers resulted in a world of hair

Alright, this piece has continued to progress. I’ve mostly concentrated on the head since the last update. I have tweaked the mouth and eyes a bit more and also finished the ears and attached them to the skull. I still have some finer adjustments left to do on the facial area before I am completely…

Looping in the face on Katana

I had some other business to take care of, so I had a break for a few days from this piece. Tonight I got back to her again though, and I have made some more progress to her since the last post. I’ve spend this night working on the facial structure, and have been…

Katana, new female character started

I’ve begun working on a new character today. I have a pretty good idea where I’ll take her and how the final image shall look. This will end up as a single still only. I’ve focused a great deal on edgeloop modeling on this one, to finetune my skills in that area.
The topology of the…

The first thing I did when getting back today, was…

The Final Render of the Living Room

Moving into the living room

Oh yes, the living room is finished. I made some final adjustments on the color scheme from the the last work in progress image and also added a bottle of wine and a decorative bowl placed on the cupboards.
A version in higher resolution can be seen in my portfolio. This was just a personal project…

A new mood in the room

Mood swings in the living room

Here’s a new update of the living room. I did some major redesign of the mood in the room. Changed the location to a city night shot, in a more pleasant area than the industrial view. I also completely changed the color scheme of the image, to a more pleasant combination.
Almost done now, just…

Initial texturing of the room

Living room texturing has begun

Alright, I’m back, a few days later than expected, but now I’ve started texturing and lighting the living room. It’s a pretty basic daylight lighting at the moment. I’m thinking of taking this image into a nighttime shot instead.
I still though have to work a bit more on the textures, and add some objects for…
